The O'Connell Family
- The O'Connell family have the distinction of being the oldest family in the Ballybrannigan area.
- They have predominantly dwelt in the Coolbea area.
- Of the O'Connells, Michael and Catherine lived near Ballybrannigan cross, at the turnoff to the beach.
- It was there that they lived with their family, William, John Anastasia, Annie and Daniel.
